At the beginning of my entrepreneurial journey I used to email up to four bloggers per day regarding interviews with people in my space.

They didn’t respond to me or rejected my application many times. But I quickly learned that I would be more likely to interview them if they gave me feedback from their past interviews.

It is crucial to publish original, authoritative, and newsworthy content. Create a Google Alert to track keywords in your niche.

Informational articles such as guides or how-tos are not eligible. Each post must be completely new. Do not publish aggregated content.

Every news article you write must be true to your source. The author profile must be linked to every post’s byline. The profile must include contact information and links to social media profiles.

Please refer to the Google quality guidelines before you begin your news section. You must have a Google account to become a Google News Partner. Register for a Google Apps account and pay $15 per month ( http://apps.google.com/pricing.html ).

Let me give you an example. Let’s say I am targeting men’s fashion as my keyword phrase. I did a search for “top blogs about mens fashion” and found a lot of amazing results.

I visited Off the Cuff to discover it was owned by Christopher Hogan.

Next, I visited Christopher Hogan’s Twitter page. His tweets seem to be frequent and include some thoughts on formal fashion during different seasons. He has 3300 followers. It’s not the most well-known, but there’s a twist to it.

I was inspired to create a content strategy that could get shared and endorsed by influential people (with more than a billion followers).

Here’s what I would next do:

I would then tweet it to him or post it on my FB Page. It may be shared if he likes it, which I believe it will because it was so laborious to make. This would result in targeted traffic that has the potential to convert.
