TikTok Marketing Tip #1 – Be quick to follow the trends

If you’ve spent any time on TikTok — even just a few minutes — you’ve noticed that TikTok is all about the trends.

Some trends are born out of nowhere while others are tied to current events. Beauty influencer and TikTok star, Seth Obrien, says that speed is one of the best ways to get your content seen on TikTok.@sethobrien Full Face of Makeup over a Mask ##makeup Say so (Instrumental Version). TikTok Marketing Tips 1

Seth, who is a TikTok user with over 3,000,000 followers, suggests that he record and upload the videos in one day.

“Trends can change as fast as one day so it is important to keep up with the latest trends in order to keep your content fresh and relevant.”

It’s not as difficult as you might think. Instead of trying to think of a new idea every day, Seth finds most of his inspiration by scrolling through his FYP or Explore pages.@sethobriendo i look like a football player original sound – moeed.raheel

The best thing about following the trends is? Users are actually searching and watching the content under trending hashtags — so you’ll be reaching new audiences in no time!

TikTok Marketing Tip #2: Choose A Niche

TikTok is more than just cute videos and dance moves. Chriselle Lim, co-founder and CMO of bumo is here to show it!@chrisellelimMY DAUGHTER STYLES ME PART 1! You guys would like to see the final look? ##LittleBitFancy #motherdaughter##momlife##outfit ##style original sound by chrisellelim

TikTok Marketing Tips 4

According to the fashion-obsessed mother of 2, there are people on TikTok who will love your brand, regardless of your age or subject.

“That’s TikTok’s power — finding a niche group”

If you want to reach parents, for example, create content that is relatable or offers value.

Chriselle shares content for parents who are looking to teach their children about social themes and concepts, with the tagline: “helps little minds learn big things.”@bumoparentNot shying away from those conversations & storytelling is the first step in raising anti-racist kids. ##blacklivesmatter ##justiceforgeorgefloyd ##kids Childish Gambino – This Is America / Post Malone – Congratulations – carneyval_

By consistently sharing niche content, your desired audience will eventually find it — especially if you use the right discovery techniques. Once you have established a relationship with your audience you can build a strong community beyond the app.

“Meet people at their place and you’ll be able to see more growth in your business than just TikTok.

“Once my TikTok began taking off, all of sudden my Instagram started to grow again.”

Spend time searching TikTok for your niche. Take a look at the work of your competitors in this space to see where you can make a mark.

TikTok Marketing Tip #3 – Prepare and Practice

TikTok’s most popular trend is transition videos. There are hundreds, if no thousands, of TikTok users who show others how to achieve the transition effect.

They are so entertaining and satisfying to watch that it is no surprise that they are so popular.@nichole.ciottiWhich day is your mood?! I believe I’m Thursday ???? ##tiktokfashion ##whattowear ##favoritefit Dripeesha Hall – kristarobertso

Nichole Ciotti, co-founder of Storyluxe explains that it is all about practice and preparation if you want to make transitions smooth.

Nichole, who has over 500K followers on TikTok is one of the first to embrace the outfit transition trend. Nichole’s “today’s outfit ideas” videos inspired a new wave of fashion-related content to TikTok.@nichole.ciottiUtility pants + crop top + chunky sneaks! ##tiktokfashion #whattowear ##favoritefit – nichole.ciotti

Nicole explains, “For flawless transitions you want to be as minimal as possible within the frame.”

Nichole recommends using tape to mark where you are standing, instead of relying solely on your eyes.

You can use the tape trick to leave the frame, do whatever you need to do and then return to the exact same spot.

TikTok Marketing Tip #4 – Immerse yourself in the App

Nathan Allebach, Creative Leader at Steakumm’s recommends that you immerse yourself in TikTok if you’re serious about using TikTok as part of your marketing strategy.

He explains that it is important to determine who is most popular, why they’re popular, what people say, and what people actually care about.

What is the best way to get lost in your own world? You can scroll through your For You Page every day, follow the most popular creators, listen all the latest sounds, and browse the Explore Page.

They say it takes 10,000 hours (or ten years) to become an expert or master at something. It doesn’t take long to master TikTok.

After spending a few weeks immersed in TikTok, you will soon start to understand what it is all about.

The app becomes second-nature to you the more you use it. Nathan shares that you’ll soon understand why certain things work and others don’t.

TikTok Marketing Tip #5 – Tell a Story

According to Sawyer Hartman, filmmaker and vlogger, the key to TikTok — and any social media platform — is storytelling.@sawyerhartmanTired of taking boring photos? Strategically using text overlays is one of the best ways you can tell a story and grab attention.

Are you unsure where to begin?

“First, I use text to create a problem or grab your attention. I address people’s concerns and fears right away. Sawyer explains, “And then, step-by-step, I solve the problem.”

Text can be used to stop scrollers from scrolling and it is also great for people with hearing impairments.

TikTok Marketing Tip #6 – Post Often

One thing is certain about all our TikTok experts: they post to TikTok at the very least once per day. Chriselle often posts up to 5 videos per day.

TikTok’s best feature is the freedom to be creative with your content strategy. You can test new ideas and find out what works best for you business.

You can continue to improve your results by finding a format that resonates with your audience. Nathan follows this strategy for Steakumm’s page:

TikTok Marketing Tips: Expert Advice from TikTok Pros

He says, “It takes a lot more trial and error to find out what makes people laugh.”

Posting regularly is likely to help improve your performance with the TikTok algorithm, too.

Try new content formats and start experimenting with your strategy. Once you have a winning formula, keep posting!

TikTok Marketing Tip #7 – Be the First

While so much of TikTok is about jumping on the trends and finding ideas on the For You Page, it can also be about trying new things and creating original concepts.

It’s a great strategy to find inspiration from the For You Page, but you don’t have to limit yourself to what’s already going on out there.

People are looking for new content and the most innovative brands often see the greatest success on the app.

You don’t have to start completely from scratch. You can also add value to an already established trend by putting your own spin on it.

Take Sawyer‘s advice: “You don’t have to re-invent the wheel. You don’t have to reinvent the wheel if you don’t know where to begin.

TikTok Marketing Tip #8 – Don’t Give up

This is the one tip that all TikTok marketers should take away: Don’t lose heart.

TikTok can be exhausting especially when you are trying to use it for business growth. It only takes one viral video for it to happen, but don’t be discouraged if it doesn’t happen immediately.

It’s not easy, according to TikTok experts.

It took Nathan uploading 10 videos to SteakUmm’s TikTok before one video caught steam. It took 40 more videos to make the viral video.@steakummi – I’m sorry

“A lot of it just learning at the start. He explains that it was a lot more experimentation.@steakummthere is only one real choice. ##yuh7 Rings yu h – mikey_the_husky8

When starting off, experiment with everything like what time you post to TikTok, what sounds you use, the type of videos you upload, and the style of your videos.

TikTok Marketing Tip #9: Be Authentic

Although authentic may seem like a buzzword on social media, TikTok makes it a reality, especially for those just getting started with the app.

On TikTok, authenticity comes before aesthetics — so don’t be afraid to try something new and let your personality shine!@chrisellelim A little family silliness that will put a smile in your face. ##familytime##kids ##parents Go, Go Who’s Next? Hip Hop Harry

When Chriselle started posting to TikTok, she found she was expressing her true self on TikTok more than she was on any other social platform.

“TikTok inspired me to be more authentic with myself and to have fun with it.”

Similarly, when Nichole started posting content on TikTok, she also knew she wanted to stay true to who she was.

It is much easier to transition to a new platform if your brand is authentic to you. She explains that you don’t need to think up new ideas, but can simply continue being true to yourself.@nichole.ciottiLoving this outfit rn ##indoorlooks ##tiktokfashion ##whattowear ##fashion original sound – nichole.ciotti

TikTok Marketing Tip #10 – Have Fun with It

TikTok is all fun. For many TikTok experts, this was the key to their success on TikTok: Have fun with your content.@sethobrienrainbow eyebrows ##makeup GOOBA- 6ix9ine

When Seth started creating content on TikTok, he quickly realised that having fun was key to success.

“I was so obsessed with view count and likes that there was a point when I couldn’t stop thinking about it. Finally, I realized that this was something I wanted to have fun with. After I had made the decision, it was time to have fun.

It’s a lot of fun. It is important to have fun with your content.

You can be sure that your viewers will enjoy what you create.

TikTok Advertising Tips : TikTok Promotional Methods

1. To build your community, be authentic

You must be authentic if you want to succeed on TikTok 2020.

Yes, I used one of the most frequently overused words in recent years. But, authenticity is going to be a key ingredient in building relationships with your audience.

Don’t push sales. Consider the creative, fun elements of your brand and how you can communicate them through TikTok content.

It is obvious that it is easier to create content that people love and want to share with your ideal clients and customers.

Another way to be a part of the TikTok community, however, is to spend some time browsing videos and see how others use the platform.

You can build a community around your content to ensure that you have an audience ready to listen when you push your product/service.

2. 2.Share stories and add value

There are many types of TikTok that you can create. However, if you are looking for specific ideas, then you should focus on telling stories and/or creating educational content.

Similar to how Instagram growth is dependent on sharing value, TikTok will make you the industry’s go-to resource if you share valuable information on TikTok.

Bonus points are awarded if you add fun to the education and value. Bonus points are awarded if you can add a fun spin to that value and education.

People who show them how to use products they love are the most successful TikTok accounts.

This tutorial-style content is well-suited for travel, fashion, interiors, and food brands. However, other industries have also successfully used this strategy.

It’s good to be informed!TikTok has recently invested PS13m in the launch#LearnOnTikTokA new program, which will commission hundreds of experts from institutions to create educational content for the platform.

Sharing stories is a great way of building trust with your audience.

For example, a small business owner could share TikTok content that describes specific experiences, such as your daily life, or what you love about your job.

No matter what story you choose to tell, it is important that it is short and concise and provokes emotion.

Ask yourself, will they be inspired? Encourage them to laugh. Encourage them. Encourage them?

3. 3. User-generated content

Since user-generated content is the basis of TikTok’s appeal and success, it may come as no surprise to hear that this is one of our 15 most useful TikTok marketing tips in 2020.

You don’t have to be a creator to get your customers to share videos using your products and services.

This type of content is more engaging than brand-generated content, and can increase brand awareness without the need to promote TikTok videos.

4. Trending hashtags

TikTok videos with trending hashtags are more likely than others to be found and have a greater chance of success.

Guess what? They’ll be used!

Remember that the maximum length of your TikTok caption can be 100 characters. This means that you can only use captions andhashtags. You need to be careful about which ones you choose.

To increase your engagement, use a mix of niche and broad hashtags.

A travel TikTok video could include generic hashtags such as #tiktoktravel, or hashtags that describe the location like #newyorkcity or #usa. You can also include specific hashtags such as #travelthrowback or #travelcouple in addition to the broader hashtags.

5. Use trending songs

Like hashtags, you can use a trending song to increase the success of your TikTok content.

You can find out which songs are most likely to be featured by looking at the For You page.

You can save any song you wish to use in a future clip to your favorites. Click on the song to the top. Under the name, you’ll find a bookmark that says “Add to your Favorites”.

Some of the most popular TikTok songs in 2020 (as rounded up by BuzzFeed) include:

  • Jawsh 685 – “Laxed”
  • “Roses (Imanbek Mix)” by SAINt JHN & Imanbek

Be bold. You can share a video that you don’t usually share on other platforms, or haven’t shared yet simply because it feels a bit too wild or playful.

This is the beauty of TikTok. They are looking for fun, creative and silly content. Your TikTok content should make you laugh.

7. Use existing content to repurpose it

Contrary to what was stated, it is possible to create new content for TikTok.

Repurposing existing content can be a great strategy to begin with as you learn your TikTok style, and what resonates most with your audience.

Although it may be tempting to join the TikTok bandwagon to take part in a trending contest, it is important to keep your eyes on the long-term.

You should invest time and energy in establishing your brand and building a community around you product or service.

Start with the basics. Take a look at what other content you have created and think of ways to reuse it.

Are you, for example, creating blog posts, emails or YouTube videos as part of your marketing strategy.

It’s great! These could all be condensed into short TikTok videos of 15-30 seconds.

TikTok is not for you to promote your product or services. You don’t want to just show up for the challenge.

TikTok needs to be treated with the same attention and time as other marketing channels…

This means that you need to think about how you can be consistent and offer value to your audience.

This will make you a priority and you’ll build a following on TikTok who look forward to each new video that you create.

You want to do it in a way that isn’t going to be too time-consuming. That’s where repurposing comes into play. You want to do this in a way that’s not going to be a huge time sink – that’s where repurposing comes in.

Psst:Our article is worth readingrepurposing content on social media for maximum results!

In case you have been living under a rock for too long, check out Gary Vee, the king of content repurposing.

His Content Pyramid model of creating one piece of long-form content (YouTube video, podcast, blog) and then repurposing it into multiple different pieces of shorter-form content is very inspiring (and a welcome relief to busy content marketers! .

The same rules apply to his TikTok content, which is a mixture of original and repurposed YouTube content.

8. Attention-grabbing starts at the beginning

Why is it important to make your TikTok videos attention-grabbing right from the beginning?

You want your viewers to be engaged, and notswipe away!

So, get straight to the good stuff – don’t tease your community or leave them waiting 10 seconds before you deliver the value/humour/motivation.

TikTok videos should be outlined so they are concise and valuable from the first second to the last.

9. 9.

TikTok’s first tip for marketing is to be the first one to comment on your video.

Many brands will include follow-up information in the first comment or two of their TikTok videos.

This encourages conversation which, in turn, helps increase the reach of TikTok videos. Like any other content, respond to everyone who comments.

This will build trust and encourage others to share their thoughts.

10. Keep your videos short

You can make your video watch over and over again to increase your reach on TikTok and possibly go viral.

How do you make this happen? Make concise videos that convey a lot of value in a very short time.

You can share TikToks up to 1 minute long, but you will have more success if your TikTok videos are approximately 15 seconds in length (the same length of an Instagram Reel).

You can make a TikTok take 7-10 seconds.

However, you should not share TikTok videos that are longer. Combine both to create a strategy.

Mixing up your TikTok videos can be a great strategy, as long as you have a compelling story, a captivating beginning, and an engaged audience who loves your content.

11. Cross-promote your TikTok content

Most people are familiar with TikTok videos shared on Instagram or Twitter.

Instagram was overflowing with Reels before they launched!

It’s a smart idea to promote TikTok content on other social media channels.

Repurposing content is a great idea. I believe in working smarter and not harder. Next time you make a TikTok clip, save it to your camera roll. Then, reshare it on your Instagram account.

This will increase awareness of your TikTok account and encourage engagement.

Win-win-win

Open a TikTok video, tap Share and tap Save to Album.

You can upload a TikTok video up to 15 seconds long automatically to Reels

You can also share to Instagram Stories. Just make sure to include a clear call-to-action, encouraging your audience members to visit your TikTok account.

Jasmine Star is a business strategist and Instagram queen.

And, she doesn’t remove the TikTok watermark from her videos so viewers on Instagram can see her TikTok handle and easily go and find her on there.

12. Post often

TikTok allows you to post more than Instagram.

Although I don’t recommend you become exhausted in your quest to share the most content, I encourage you to try new things and explore as much TikTok content possible.

Explore new ideas and trends. Do not worry about being perfect with every TikTok.

Be patient and find what resonates with your audience. Sometimes, a TikTok clip will take several weeks to get noticed and push to more people via the algorithm.

You can maximize your chances of success by learning and testing, being creative and looking at what your community is interested in.
