Cost per View (CPV).

Cost Per View, also known as Pay Per Click, is an advertising model that charges for pageviews and not clicks, events or conversions.

The marketplace where the traffic was purchased will determine the traffic sources and costs.

Traffic can also come from expired domains and parked domains as well as redirect traffic, referral traffic, and so forth.

It’s best to increase pageviews on your website, but not for quality leads or sales.

It seems like this traffic can artificially boost the traffic rank of your site. Otherwise, I don’t get why big e-tailers buy it.

Perhaps they just have an advertising budget.

The good news is that you can get quality traffic as low as $0.001 ( ).

It can also be displayed in pop-under or pop-under depending on the traffic marketplace.

Retargeting

Retargeting, also known as Remarketing, is an online form of advertising that targets users who have previously visited your site (but are visiting other websites), but left without taking any action.

Why should you retarget visitors? Because less than 5% first-time visitors convert to customers.

If your e-commerce website has a pay per click campaign, it is more likely that users will leave the site without signing up or buying.

You never know when the bounced visitors will return to your site again.

You can also target these users again with retargeted ads, which makes it easier for them find you.

All popular advertising platforms, including Google AdWords and Bing Ads as well as Facebook Ads and Twitter Ads.

You can create retargeting campaign. If you’re looking for an alternative retargeting solution, you can use any of these platforms.

  1. Perfect Audience

Marketing Through Mobile

Although I don’t like ads on mobile devices (as an advertiser or user), it is true that we live in a mobile age thanks to improved connectivity and the penetration of tablets and smartphones.

People are spending so much time on their mobile devices that Google searches on them exceeds the computers in more than ten countries.

This also means that advertisers must consider mobile as a platform.

Advertisers can target the majority of mobile users with Google AdWords or Bing Ads.

However, I am listing some mobile ad networks that can be used to purchase traffic from websites and apps.

  1. InMobi
  2. Cidewalk
  3. Airpush
  4. BuzzCity
  5. Go2mobi
  6. Tapjoy
  7. Leadbolt
  8. Admoda

Closing Thoughts

There is no need to purchase ads on any of the search engines or ad networks. Focus on quality and relevance and you will be where your potential clients are.

If you don’t know what to do, it’s worth trying all the options (assuming you have enough money for online advertising) and then tracking your ROI.

You might also be able to learn from your competitors, and look at how they are positioned in the market.

However, it is important to monitor the results of your ads campaigns to determine if you can scale up/down your spend and which are working.

Paid traffic can be very effective, as you may have realized.

It’s costly and you might end up with a negative return-on-investment (ROI) if you don’t do it correctly.

Paid traffic can be a great asset to your business if you have a strong marketing strategy and a long-term goal.

Are you missing your top paid traffic source? If so, do let me know!

Happy Advertising! 🙂
